There are some tips and tricks on how to maintain good vision and even gradually improve eyesight. They are all included in the book and wait for you to discover them for yourself. They are all proven natural safe methods on how to improve your vision. The most common stress factors for our eyes nowadays are related to artificial light (smart-phones, PC-s, LCD-s, laptops, TV-s etc). There is a way to face that stress and keep your good vision. One major rule that you need to keep in mind in order to make all those exercises and techniques work: the “Look away” rule.

This technique addresses your eye muscles (the ciliary muscle) and makes it relax and gather strength to continue at the same efficiency. So the Look away rule is used to maintain good vision even when you do close-up work. When you feel tired and your eyes strained just do the following thing:

Just look away. Indeed, may sound weird and dull, but this is one of the golden rules that you must not break nowadays in order to maintain good sight. Whenever you work or stress your eyes in artificial light, just take a break every ten minutes, close your eyes briefly, look at the window or at something that is far from you and focus on that for a while (some 10-20 seconds). This is probably the easiest way to relax your eyes when working. It is, for the eyes, like standing up, stretching and taking a short walk whenever you spend too much time sitting at the office.

But this is just one piece of the puzzle. In order to maintain good vision it is also very important to eat lots of vitamins and healthy food. The right vitamins can not only help maintain your vision, but also prevent diseases like macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts. Do not forget the lutein-packed food that I have insisted so much on in my book. They do miracles.

Finally, whenever it is sunny outside consider wearing sunglasses. But not any type of sunglasses. Many are just colored plastic that does not help but damage your vision. Invest in a good pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses may be one of the single best investments you can make in your vision. And they don’t have to be expensive to work. They must, however, have UV protection lenses that keep away the harmful sunrays.

The gardener can store fertilizer, gardening soil, pots and other tools where they will be dry and easily accessible.   The hobbyist can also keep his equipment and supplies indoors away from the elements.  Many hobbies include the use of electric equipment which cannot be repeatedly exposed to dampness, so using a shed to store these items is an excellent way to keep them well preserved and usable for years to come.   Inside the shed, the tools can be organized and placed in easily accessible spots for ease of use.
